Mena's brilliance is eventful, The year's best album?

People are raving Mena all across the web, while we’re the first ones to begin the enthusiasm, we must confess we’re extremely surprise at how well people are responding to the year’s best pop album. For those asking, yes, Mena’s 100 perfect rating is the highest score we’ve given an album since we launched Club Fonograma a few years ago. And we’re not alone, some of our favorite and most reliable sources have nothing but great things to say about Mena. Here, we compiled some review excerpts, not as a way to defend our rating, but to highlight the eventfulness the new Javiera Mena album has trembled within our circuit.

- Jenesaispop

“It was definitely worth the wait.”MTV Iggy

I was a bit of a skeptikkk but it really is an amazing accomplishment. Mad props to Cristian Heyne as well, realy nice top-notch work as a producer.

Grade inflation. Sometimes I agree sometimes disagree. I like Javiera Mena and she is true to her own sound: danceable, melodic. I dont think the album's songs are epic but they are solid, and with so little rock/pop en espanol to go around that's almost too much to expect these days. I am waiting to see what Shakira's album sounds like and hoping for a positive surprise there. I am a huge fan of Tango36 but no one around these parts will know them. Some bands are very lucky to have two very good songs per CD. Peace.
