MtyMx All Ages Festival of Art and Music

Monterrey is not only the most exciting place for new emerging bands, it’s getting its own fest and in a big way. The MtyMx All Ages Festival of Art and Music will take place March 20 – 22, yes overlapping (partially) with SXSW! (if you’re smart you can totally find your way to celebrate both festivals).

It is organized by Todd P and the famous Yo Garage venue, as if it there weren’t reasons enough to visit this beautiful city. One of the reasons why we’re particularly excited, it’s because of the Mexican bands announced so far; from Los Fancy Free and Quiero Club to Alexico, White Ninja and Ratas del Vaticano! Clearly not your typical lineup, although SXSW is well known for actually caring about these great bands (especially those from Nene Records). And it’s just $30 dollars for a 3-day pass, we’ll do our best to get there!

Lineup highlights: Dan Deacon, Los Fancy Free, Neon Indian, No Age, Das Racist, Quiero Club, Washed Out, Pocahaunted, Alexico, dd/mm/yyyy, White Ninja, Toro y Moi, Ratas del Vaticano and more… http://www.yogarage.mx/

Little by little seems like my hometown is gaining the name of rock city capital again after a hiatus in the late 90’s. I hope this will revitalize the fresh sounds of music the city has to offer. Plus, it’s a great bill for its first festival. Keep up the great work Charlitos.
